ATF Lines, Replacing

The procedure must be followed in sequence to remove the ATF line -A-





- remove cross brace (upper arrows)

- remove brackets for air intakes on both sides (lower arrow)

- remove air intakes from air cleaner housing





- remove screws on upper section of air cleaner housing (arrows)

- remove air filter element





- remove screws from lower section of air cleaner housing (arrows). press housing rearward and lift out





- turn steering to left

- loosen nut at line connection (arrow)

- support transmission using transmission lifter VW 1383 and VW 1383A with transmission mount VW 1594

- remove right side transmission mount





- loosen line connections (arrows) and remove line from underneath

Note
^ always use a suitable wrench to hold the line connections while loosening
^ always replace O-ring seals
^ when refilling with ATF see Repair Manual Group 32 for filling capacity and checking procedures
