A8 M.Y. 2000 to VIN 4DYN008706

Condition
When locking vehicle either with key or by remote transmitter, turn signal lights flash but alarm horn does not sound.

May be caused by incorrectly coded control module.

Service

Check central locking system control module coding (should be 16140) using VAG 1551 or VAS 5051 (see Repair Manual CD-Rom Body-On Board Diagnostic (OBD) Central locking system On Board Diagnostic (OBD), 01.96 >, Code control Module (scan tool function 07).

If coding is not correct:

- Code control module to 16140 as outlined in CD-Rom Body-On Board Diagnostic (OBD) Central locking system On Board Diagnostic (OBD), 01.96 >, Code control Module (scan tool function 07).

Once coding is complete:

- Ensure vehicle turn signals flash and alarm horn sounds when vehicle alarm is activated.
