Navigation Module: Service and Repair

Control Module For Navigation System With CD Mechanism -J401-, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Radio release tool T10057

Removing
- If Navigation system control module is to be replaced:
- Use VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic Testing and Information System in operating mode "Guided Fault Finding"
- Select "Replace" for appropriate Control Module and follow tester prompts.

Control module:
- Open left luggage compartment storage area.







- Insert two keys of release tool T10057 in front side as illustrated.
- Pull control module out from mounting frame.
- Disconnect all electrical connections from Control Module.







- Attach protective cap -1- to fiber-optic connector -2-.
- Press locking lugs at side of Control Module and remove keys.

Mounting frame:







- Remove nut -1- (8 Nm) and bolt -2- (8 Nm).
- Remove screws -arrows- (3 Nm) in order to detach frame from slide-in module.

Installing
Mounting frame:
- Install in reverse order of removal.

Control Module:
- Reconnect electrical connections.
- Slide Control Module into mounting frame until it engages.
