Engine Installation

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Engine assembly.
- Align with transaxle dowel pins.
2. Transaxle to engine bolts and ground wire harness.
- Tighten transaxle to engine bolts to 75 Nm (55 lbs.ft.).
3. Heater hoses to engine.
4. Upper and lower radiator hoses.
5. Electrical connections to engine.
6. Generator.
7. Power steering pump.
- Tighten power steering pump bolts 27 Nm (20 lbs.ft.).
8. Serpentine belt.
9. Vacuum line to transaxle module.
10. Engine torque strut and bolt to engine.
- Tighten to 57 Nm (42 lbs.ft.).
11. Exhaust crossover pipe.
12. Throttle cable mounting bracket and vacuum lines.
13. Heat shield to crossover pipe.
14. Throttle cables to throttle body and mounting bracket.
15. Inner fender electrical cover.
16. Coolant recovery reservoir.
17. Fuel hoses to fuel rail and mounting bracket.
18. Raise vehicle.
19. Front exhaust pipe to manifold.
20. Oil filter.
21. Oil cooler pipes to hose connections.
22. Engine mount nuts to frame.
- Tighten nuts to 44 Nm (32 lbs. ft.).
23. Transaxle to engine bolt through wheel well.
- Tighten to 75 Nm (55 lbs.ft.).
24. Starter motor.
25. A/C compressor to bracket.
26. Wire harness clamps to frame near radiator.
27. Torque converter to flywheel bolts.
- Align scribe marks.
- Tighten bolts to 63 Nm (46 lbs. ft.).
28. Flywheel cover.
- Tighten bolts to 6 Nm (53 lbs. in.).
29. Inner fender splash shield.
30. Right front tire and wheel.
31. Lower vehicle.
32. Engine coolant
33. Cooling fan, right
34. Bleed power steering system.
35. Fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
36. Air cleaner.
37. Negative battery cable.
- Tighten bolt to 15 Nm (11 lbs. ft.).
38. Hood with assistant.
39. Inspect all fluid levels.
