Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the fuel injection sight shield.
3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve harness connector.




4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve purge pipe and vacuum supply hose.
5. Release the retaining tab on the EVAP canister purge mounting bracket and remove the EVAP canister purge valve.
6. Inspect for carbon release exiting the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Cleaning.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the EVAP canister purge valve onto the EVAP canister purge valve mounting bracket.




2. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve purge pipe and vacuum supply hose.
3. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.
4. Install the fuel injection sight shield.
