SERVICE PORTS REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the service fitting from the evaporator hose.
3. Remove and discard the O-ring from the evaporator hose.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the new O-ring in the evaporator hose.
2. Install the service fitting to the evaporator hose.

Tighten the fitting to 12 N.m (92 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
4. Leak test the fittings of the A/C component using the J 39400-A.
