SUBJECT: THM 440-T4 DEALER AUTHORIZED REPAIRS
MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE DEVILLES AND FLEETWOODS WITH THM 440-T4 TRANSAXLES
Since the introduction of the THM 440-T4 automatic transaxle, units requiring service have been replaced by the Hydra-Matic Division through the Transaxle Exchange Program. Effective immediately, the dealer technician is authorized to perform the on-car repairs (transaxle removal not required) outlined in Sections I and II of this bulletin.

THM 440-T4 transaxles are to be repaired following the on-car service information contained in Section III of this bulletin, and referring to Section 7 of the 1985 Front Wheel Drive Deville and Fleetwood Service Information Manual (SIM). Perform only the service operations specified. At no time should repairs requiring transaxle channel plate removal be attempted. (Refer to page 3, Figure 1, part #24.)
IMPORTANT! REPLACEMENT UNITS WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROVIDED FOR
TRANSAXLES THAT REQUIRE CHANNEL PLATE REMOVAL, TRANSAXLE REMOVAL, OR THAT EXHIBIT ANY CONDITIONS NOT LISTED IN THIS BULLETIN. REFER TO SECTION IV.
