Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Service and Repair

The percentage of oil life remaining is displayed through engine data as the 'OIL LIFE INDEX' and as a 'CHANGE OIL SOON' or 'CHANGE ENGINE OIL' message. It may be checked at any time by pressing the ENG/DATA button several times until the 'OIL LIFE INDEX' appears.


RESET PROCEDURE

After the oil has been changed, the message should be reset using the following procedure:
1. With the ignition switch ON and the engine OFF, press the ENG/DATA button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) several times until the OIL LIFE INDEX is displayed.

2. Press the ENG/DATA and RANGE buttons simultaneously until the OIL LIFE INDEX resets to 100. (hold about 5 seconds)
The message will remain off until the next oil change is needed.
