Brake Caliper: Service Precautions

Warning: The prevailing torque bolts which attach caliper support (mounting bracket) to knuckles must be replaced anytime they become loose or are removed. In this application, tightening or loosening these special prevailing torque bolts, which use an encapsulated thread compound, is not recommended. Failure to replace caliper support (mounting bracket) bolts after they have been loosened or removed may result in loosening of caliper to knuckle attachment, causing reduced vehicle braking ability, and may result in personal injury.
