Wiper Motor Linkage: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator

1. Remove the wiper arm and blade assemblies.
2. Remove the air inlet screen.
3. Remove the transmission drive link socket from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232.





IMPORTANT: Rotate the transmission as necessary to extract from the plenum.

4. Remove six screws and the transmission from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the transmission on the vehicle with six screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (70 lb in).




2. Install the transmission drive link socket to the wiper motor crank arm ball using the J 39529. Ensure that the socket is fully seated on the ball.
3. Install the air inlet screen.
4. Install the wiper arm and blade assemblies.
