Radiator: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the hood latch bracket.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting and Horns.
4. Remove the air cleaner.





5. Remove the condenser mounting bolts.





6. Remove the radiator brackets.
7. Disconnect the upper and lower engine oil cooler hose from the radiator. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement in Engine.
8. Disconnect the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.





9. Disconnect the outlet radiator hose from the engine.





10. Disconnect the upper inlet hose from the engine.
11. Tilt the radiator forward.
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the cooling fans.





13. Remove the cooling tan assembly from the radiator.





14. Disconnect the generator inlet cooler hose from the radiator.





15. Remove the outlet radiator hose from the radiator.





16. Remove the inlet radiator hose from the radiator.





17. Remove the radiator.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the cooling fan assembly to the radiator.





2. Install the inlet radiator hose to the radiator.





3. Install the outlet radiator hose to the radiator.





4. Install the radiator to vehicle.





5. Connect the generator inlet cooler line to the radiator.
6. Connect the electrical connectors to the cooling fans.





7. Connect the lower radiator hose to the engine.





8. Install the upper radiator hose to the engine.
9. Install the air cleaner.
10. Connect the upper and lower engine oil cooler hose to the radiator.
11. Connect the transmission cooler lines to the radiator.





12. Install the radiator brackets.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





13. Install the condenser mounting bolts.
^ Tighten the condenser mounting bolts to 13 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
14. Install the hood latch bracket.
15. Install the headlamps.
16. Fill the cooling system.
17. Check the transmission fluid.
