Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the engine sight shield retaining bolts and the engine sight shield.
2. Disconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector.
3. Using the quick-connect fitting, disconnect the [1][2]EVAP purge hose from the EVAP purge solenoid.
4. Partially open the throttle.
5. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid retaining bolt.
6. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Be sure to install the new O-ring on the EVAP purge solenoid.
1. Partially open the throttle.
2. Install the EVAP purge solenoid.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service and Precautions.
3. Install the EVAP purge solenoid retaining bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
4. Allow the throttle to close.
5. Reconnect the [1][2]EVAP purge hoses using the quick-connect fitting.
6. Reconnect the EVAP purge solenoid electrical connector.
7. Install the engine sight shield and retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (70 lb in).
