Cabin Air Filter / Purifier: Service and Repair
PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AIR FILTER REPLACEMENTHVAC AIR FILTER REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Press the tabs and release the filter access cover.
2. Remove the filter access cover.
3. Flex the passenger side of the HVAC filter housing (1) in order to release the HVAC filter from the housing.
4. Remove the HVAC filter from the cowl and housing.
HVAC AIR FILTER INSTALLATION
1. Flex the passenger side of the HVAC air filter housing (1) in order to allow the air filter to slide into the housing.
2. Install the HVAC air filter in the filter housing.
3. Install the HVAC filter access cover.
HVAC AIR FILTER AND HOUSING REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Press the tabs and release the filter access cover.
2. Remove the filter access cover.
3. Remove the push pin retainer (2) from the forward edge of the HVAC filter and housing (1).
4. Using a flat bladed tool, release the retainer tab (1) on the passenger side of the HVAC filter and housing by inserting the tool between the air filter and the compartment wall on the outboard side of the vehicle.
5. Grasp the HVAC filter and housing (1) assembly and remove the assembly from the opening.
6. Remove the HVAC filter from the HVAC filter housing (1).
HVAC AIR FILTER AND HOUSING INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the HVAC filter into the HVAC filter housing (1).
2. Install the HVAC filter and housing (1) into the opening in the cowl. Push the filter housing toward the rear of the vehicle until a click is heard.
3. Install the push pin retainer (2) into the forward corner of the HVAC filter housing (1).
4. Install the HVAC filter access cover.
