Submit a Product Campaign Claim with the information indicated below:
*Campaign Administrative Allowance.
**The Parts Allowance should be the sum total of the current GMWDD Dealer Net plus 30% of all parts required for the repair.
Dealers will automatically receive the correct labor allowance based on the labor operation performed.

Dear Chevrolet Owner:
General Motors has determined that certain 1982 Chevrolet Cavalier models equipped with 1.8L engine (VIN Code G) and California emission equipment, may be emitting oxides of nitrogen (NOx) pollutants in excess of California Emission Standards. This may be attributed to the exhaust gas recirculating (EGR) valve vacuum signal becoming inadequate with increase mileage.
To correct this condition, please contact your Chevrolet Dealer to arrange a service date to install an EGR harness modification kit including a new tune-up label. In addition, the carburetor secondary vacuum break will be inspected. When required, secondary vacuum breaks found to be inoperative, will be replaced. This service will be performed for you at no charge.
Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your Chevrolet dealer. The labor time required to make this modification is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Parts are available at your dealership. Please allow additional time for your dealer to process your vehicle.
The enclosed owner reply card identifies your vehicle. Presentation of this card to your dealer will assist in making the necessary correction in the shortest possible time. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please complete the postage paid owner reply card and return it to us.
