1984---88 CORVETTE
Spindle Support Rod
1. Raise and support vehicle, and remove wheel and tire.
2. Scribe mark between cam bolt and bracket for reassembly, Fig. 19.
3. Remove cam bolt and disconnect support rod from bracket.
4. Remove bolt securing spindle support rod to knuckle and rod.
5. Reverse procedure to install, then check rear suspension alignment. Torque retaining bolt at knuckle to 95---118 ft. lbs., and cam bolt to 158---213 ft. lbs.
Tie Rod
1. Raise and support vehicle, and remove wheel and tire.
2. Remove cotter pin and nut securing tie rod to spindle support knuckle.
3. Press tie rod from knuckle using tool J-24319-01 or equivalent.
4. Remove tie rod from adjusting sleeve, counting number of turns necessary.
5. Reverse procedure to install, then check rear suspension alignment. Torque tie rod nut 29---36 ft. lbs., and locking nut to 39---53 ft. lbs.
