TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
1990 Chevrolet Lumina sedans may be towed from the front or rear using sling type equipment by using the following instructions.
The maximum tow speeds and distances are 35 mph for 50 miles. These speed and distances must be adhered to when towing on the drive wheels or transmission damage could occur.
CHEVROLET - Lumina
FRONT TOW
Attach "T" hook chains in front of wheel into side slots in cradle.
Position 4 x 4 wood beam across sling chains with spacer blocks contacting front lowing blocks inside lower facia opening. (See Inset)
Position lower sling crossbar against front of 4 x 4 wood beam.
Attach a separate safety chain around outboard end of each lower control arm.
REAR TOW
Attach "T" hook chains to slots in bottom of floor pan just ahead of rear wheels.
No 4 x 4 wood beam needed.
Position lower sling crossbar just ahead of the front edge of rear bumper.
Attach a separate safety chain around outboard end of each lower control arm.
