SUBJECT: EXCHANGE PROGRAM SUPPLEMENT 1990 LUMINA UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) PAD

THIS IS TO ADVISE CHEVROLET'S CONTINUANCE OF THE SUBJECT EXCHANGE PROGRAM ANNOUNCED IN ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE 01-225 CREATED ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1989.

CHEVROLET WILL EXCHANGE ANY UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD DETERMINED BY A CHEVROLET DEALER TO BE DELAMINATED. THIS CONDITION IS RECOGNIZED AS A CURLING BACK, SEPARATION OR BLISTERING OF UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD COVERING MATERIAL.

WHEN AN UPPER INSTRUMENT PAD EXCHANGE IS DETERMINED TO BE NECESSARY, CALL DAN CURRY, MATERIALS MANAGER, AT 416/885-7231. BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE YOUR FIVE DIGIT CHEVROLET DEALER CODE, INVOLVED VEHICLE VIN, AND COLOR OF THE REPLACEMENT PART REQUIRED.

A REPLACEMENT PART WILL BE SHIPPED WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT (48) HOURS OF THE REQUEST.

IN ORDER TO ANALYZE THE DEFECTIVE PADS, DEALERS MUST RETURN THE DEFECTIVE PADS TO THE DAVIDSON TECHNOLOGY CENTER, ATTENTION: PETER IANNAZZI, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING CONTAINER THAT CONTAINED THE REPLACEMENT PART SHOULD BE USED FOR THE RETURN SHIPMENT. A COPY OF THE REPAIR ORDER FOR REPAIRS ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLE MUST BE RETURNED ALONG WITH THE DEFECTIVE PART. SHIPPING LABELS WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE ORIGINAL PACKET INSIDE THE BOX. FAILURE TO RETURN THE REMOVED UNIT WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS WILL RESULT IN THE DEALERSHIP BEING BILLED FOR THE UNIT FURNISHED. THIS PROGRAM WILL CONTINUE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
