Fig. 16 Oil Pan Installation:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then drain crankcase.
3. Disconnect [1][2]oil level sensor electrical connector, then remove oil level sensor, Fig. 16.
4. Remove oil filter.
5. Remove starter motor, then remove flywheel cover.
6. Disconnect catalytic converters at exhaust manifolds.
7. Remove nuts from engine mount studs.
8. Remove oil pan attaching bolts, nuts and studs, then remove oil pan.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Prior to installation apply a small amount of sealer 1052914 or equivalent to front cover to engine mating surface and rear seal retainer to engine mating surface. Apply sealer 1 inch in each direction of the radius cavity of these mating surfaces. Torque oil pan retaining bolts to specifications.
