Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable
2. Raise and support vehicle
3. Exhaust system crossover pipe nuts
4. Exhaust crossover pipe from studs on exhaust manifold assembly
5. Exhaust pipe bolts/screws
6. Catalytic converter assembly from exhaust pipe assembly
7. Catalytic converter hanger bolts
8. Converter assembly

Install or Connect
1. Catalytic converter hanger assembly
2. Catalytic converter hanger bolts
Torque Value: 41 N-m (30 lb.ft.)
3. Exhaust pipe assembly to converter assembly
4. Exhaust pipe bolts
Torque Value: 20 N-m (15 lb.ft.)
5. Exhaust crossover pipe and nuts
Torque Value: 35 N-m (26 lb.ft.)
6. Lower vehicle
7. Negative battery connection
