Troubleshooting Hints

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS:
1. If one Headlamp does not light, check bulb, connections, and wires to Headlamp.
2. If HI Beams do not light but HI Beam Indicator lights, check CKT 11 for open.
3. If Headlamps on one side are dim, check ground on that side.
4. Check Fuse 9 by operating Rear Defogger and observing indicator.
5. Check Fuse 7 by operating Park Lamps.
6. Check Fuse 4 by visual inspection.
7. If BRAKE Indicator is lit with Ignition Switch in "RUN" and Park Brake Released, refer to Brake Warning. Brake Warning Indicator
8. If Night Mode of Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Module is activated by bright lamp, check Photoresistor for obstruction (by dirt or lint, for example).
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system failure but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check (refer to "General Troubleshooting Procedures,"). Diagnostic Aids
