Valve Cover: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
3. Remove the following cables at the accelerator control bracket:
^ The accelerator control
^ The cruise control
^ The TV





4. Remove the accelerator control cable bracket.





5. Disconnect the PCV hose.





6. Remove the valve cover bolts.
7. Remove the valve cover and the gasket.
8. Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head and the valve cover.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the valve cover gasket.





2. Install the valve cover.
3. Install the valve cover bolts. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





4. Connect the PCV hose.





5. Install the accelerator control cable bracket.
6. Install the accelerator control cable bracket bolts. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the following cables at the accelerator control bracket.
^ The accelerator control
^ The cruise control
^ The TV
8. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
