Drive Pinion Cartridge Disassemble

^ Tools Required:
- J 42163 Spanner Wrench
- J 42164 Pinion Gear Holder
- J 42166 Front Pinion Bearing Remover
- J 42194 Bearing Race Remover
- J 42162 Side Gear Compressor





1. Remove the drive pinion nut from the drive pinion using J 42163 and J 42164.





2. Remove the rear drive pinion bearing, the drive pinion cartridge and the bearing spacer from the drive pinion using J 42162, V-blocks and a hydraulic press. Discard the bearing.





3. Remove the front drive pinion bearing from the drive pinion using the J 42166, J 42162 and a hydraulic press. Discard the bearing.





4. Remove the front drive pinion bearing outer race from the drive pinion cartridge using the J 42194 and a hydraulic press. Discard the bearing race.





5. Remove the rear drive pinion bearing outer race from the drive pinion cartridge using the J 42194 and a hydraulic press. Discard the bearing race.
