Differential Side Bearing Disassemble

^ Tools Required
- J 42194 Differential Case Bearing Race Remover
- J 42156 Left Output Shaft Bearing Remover
- J 23907 Slide Hammer





1. Remove the right side carrier cover bearing outer race from the cover using the J 42194 and a hydraulic press.





2. Remove the bearing race (1) and right side shim pack (2) from the right carrier cover.
3. Discard the bearing race.
4. Tag the shim pack to indicate the position from which it was removed.





5. Remove the output shaft bearing from the left carrier cover using the J 42156 and the J 23907.





6. Discard the output shaft bearing.





7. Remove the left side differential case bearing outer race from the differential carrier using the J 42194 and a hydraulic press.
8. Discard the bearing race.
9. Remove the left side shim pack from the differential carrier.
10. Tag the shim pack to indicate the position from which it was removed.
