Clutch Pedal Assembly: Service and Repair
Removal ProcedureImportant: Service the clutch pedal and bracket as an assembly.
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the sound insulator from inside the vehicle.
4. Remove the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal.
5. Disconnect the clutch position and clutch cruise control switches.
6. Remove the clutch cruise control switch from the bracket.
7. Remove the instrument panel support beam.
8. Remove the instrument panel support beam bracket bolt.
9. Remove the clutch pedal and bracket mounting nuts.
10. Remove the clutch pedal and bracket assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the clutch pedal and bracket assembly.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the clutch pedal and bracket mounting nuts.
^ Tighten Start with the lower nuts, tighten the nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the instrument support bracket bolt.
4. Install the instrument panel support beam.
5. Install the clutch master cylinder pushrod bushing on the pedal. Lubricate the bushing.
6. Install the clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal.
7. Install the cruise control switch.
8. Connect the following components:
^ The cruise control switch
^ The clutch position switch
9. Adjust the cruise control clutch switch, if equipped.
10. Install the sound insulator.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
