Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
4. Remove the compressor hose line nut (1) from the accumulator and position the line aside.
5. Remove the compressor hose nut (2) from the condenser and position the line aside.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
7. Remove the lower air deflector.
IMPORTANT: Remove and discard all the used O-rings and sealing washers.
8. Remove the compressor hose bolt at the compressor.
9. Remove the compressor hose assembly.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the compressor hose assembly.
IMPORTANT: Lubricate the new O-rings and sealing washers with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the new O-rings onto the compressor hose assembly.
3. Install new sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the compressor hose assembly at the rear of the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose bolt to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
5. Install the lower air deflector.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the compressor hose (2) to the condenser.
8. Install the compressor hose nut.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
9. Install the compressor hose (1) to the accumulator.
10. Install the compressor hose nut onto the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (11 lb ft).
11. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
12. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
13. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
14. Connect the negative battery cable.
