Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EVAP canister purge valve.
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge pipe from the EVAP purge valve.
4. Remove the retaining bolt (1) from the EVAP canister purge valve
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve (2) from the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the EVAP canister purge valve (2) on the intake manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the EVAP purge valve retaining bolt (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the electrical connector to the EVAP canister purge valve.
4. Connect the EVAP purge pipe to the EVAP purge valve.
