Brake Hose Replacement- Front

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and the wheel.

Important: Clean dirt, grease, and other foreign material from the hose fittings at both ends of the brake hose before servicing brake components.

3. Disconnect the front brake pipe from the brake hose.
4. Remove the retaining nut and retaining clip from the front brake hose.
5. Remove the retaining bolt and the bracket of the front brake hose.





6. Remove the front brake caliper retaining bolt from the front brake hose.
7. Remove the front brake hose gaskets.
8. Remove the front brake hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install new gaskets to the front brake hose.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the front brake hose to the caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the retaining clip to the front brake hose.

Important: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted. Make sure the brake hose is not in contact with any suspension components.

4. Connect the front brake pipe to the front brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the front brake pipe to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Bleed the brake hydraulic system.
6. Install the tire and wheel.
7. Lower the vehicle.
