Oil Pan Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine under cover.
3. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil.
4. Remove the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts.
5. Remove the front engine mount bracket-to-damper bush bolt.
6. Remove the center front suspension member bolts.
7. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts and the oil pan.
Installation Procedure
Caution:
Refer to Eye Protection Caution Eye Protection Caution.
1. Clean the remaining gasket material and oil from the oil pan.
2. Apply new liquid gasket Loctite(R) 5900-M8585 on the oil pan.
3. Clean any gasket material and oil on the engine mounting surface.
Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.
4. Install the oil pan and bolts.
Tighten the oil pan retaining bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
5. Install the center front suspension member and bolts.
Tighten the center front suspension member bolts to 90 Nm (66 lb ft).
6. Install the front engine mount bracket-to-damper bush bolt.
Tighten the front engine mount bracket-to-dampen bush bolt to 80 Nm (59 lb ft).
7. Install the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts.
Tighten the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolts to 31 Nm (23 lb ft).
8. Discard the used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
9. Discard the used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
10. Install the oil pan drain plug.
Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).
11. Refill the engine with engine oil.
12. Install the engine under cover.
Tighten the engine under cover retaining bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).
13. Connect the negative battery cable.
