Starter Noise Diagnosis

Circuit/System Testing

1. Remove the flex plate inspection cover.

2. Inspect the flex plate for the following:

* Loose flex plate bolts

* Chipped gear teeth

* Missing gear teeth

* Bent flex plate

• If not within specifications, secure the flex plate bolts or replace the flex plate.

• If all inspections were within specification, replace the starter motor.
