Temperature Valve Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the heater A/C module.
2. Remove the temperature valve electric actuator.
3. Remove the air inlet housing retaining screws.
4. Remove the air inlet housing.
5. Remove the heater A/C module upper mounting screws.
6. Release the retaining tab (1) and separate the upper and lower module halves.
7. Remove the HVAC module seal that is located between the upper and lower cases.
Start to remove the module case primary seal (blower motor side of case) seal (2) from the lower module case at the position shown (1).
8. Remove the temperature valve.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the temperature valve.
2. Install the new case seal to the HVAC module case.
Start to install the lower case seal (2) to the lower case from the position shown (1).
3. Wet the upper evaporator core seal with water. This will ease the assembly of the upper heater A/C module to the lower heater A/C module.
IMPORTANT: Inspect the condition of the retaining tab on the upper module case prior to installing the lower module case. If the retaining tab is broken or damaged, install an external retaining clip (P/N 52458793, or equivalent).
4. Align and install the upper module case to the lower module case.
Align and secure the retaining tab (1) on the upper module case to the retaining slot on the lower module case.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the heater A/C module upper mounting screws.
Tighten
Tighten the heater A/C module upper mounting screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
6. Install the air inlet housing.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Install the air inlet housing retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
8. Install the temperature valve electric actuator.
9. Install the heater A/C module.
