Distributor Cap: Service and Repair

Hall Effect Pickup Assembly:

REMOVAL

1. Remove splash shield and distributor cap mounting screws.
2. Remove cap, (leave spark plug wires attached) and rotor.

Rotor Inspection:

3. Inspect cap and rotor for wear, carbon deposits or cracks, and replace if needed.


INSTALLATION

NOTE: When installing cap make sure pick-up leads are correctly routed to avoid damage.
1. Install new rotor and cap.
2. Tighten cap hold down screws.
3. Remove one spark plug wire at a time from old cap and install on correct tower on new cap.
4. Install splash shield.
