Emissions - Incorrect PCV Valve Installed At Factory

THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 11-058. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD RRT VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve (PCV) Installed
OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves inspecting the Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve (PCV) part number and if necessary replacing it with the correct part and disposing of the old part.
MODELS:
2011 (LC) Challenger
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with the 6.4L engine (Sales Code ESG or ESH) built before May 6, 2011 (MDH 0506XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
No obvious symptoms or conditions will exist. However, vehicles with the wrong PCV valve may experience a lower than intended flow rate through the valve.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH(TM)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine and transmission systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Gain Access to the PCV valve (Fig. 1)
2. Inspect the part number on the PCV valve. Part number is on top of the valve (Fig. 2).
NOTE:
It may be necessary to clean the top of the PCV valve to read the part number.
3. Is the part number 05038532AA?
a. Yes >>> No further action is required. Return vehicle to Customer or Inventory.
b. No >>> Replace PCV valve. Follow detailed procedures in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT > 25 - Emissions Control > Evaporative Emissions > Valve, Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Removal and Installation. Dispose of the old part.
