LIGHT TRUCK 1986 E-SERIES

CALIBRATIONS: 6-54J-R00, 6-54T-R00

WARNING: This modification is authorized only for the listed engines. Performing this modification on other engine calibrations is unauthorized and could create liability under applicable federal or local laws.

Driveline "clunk" which occurs on a rapid tip-in acceleration following a closed throttle deceleration may be caused by the Decel Fuel Shutoff strategy in the processor.

A revised processor has been released for service to correct this concern. Use the following procedure.

1. Verify engine calibration level (6-54J-R00 or 6-54T-R00).

2. Remove processor assembly (part number E6TF- 12A650-GA or JA).

3. Install new processor assembly (part number E6TZ-12A650-JC).

4. Obtain and install a Ford Authorized Modification Decal indicating the TSB number and processor change.

Obtain an Authorized Modifications Decal and list the date, dealer number, and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications Decal. Clean the area, install the decal, and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
