AFFECTED VEHICLES

All 1991 and Certain 1992 Model Year Explorers produced through March 1, 1992.

REASONS FOR THIS PROGRAM

Vehicle operation that generates high exhaust/under body temperatures, such as extended idle times and/or trailer towing, may cause the radius arm insulator to deteriorate. If not corrected, the radius arm may become loose, creating an audible rattle/clunk sound from the front suspension during parking maneuvers.

PROGRAM PROVISIONS AND LIMITATIONS

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified that a no-charge service program is available if their vehicles should experience the condition described above. This service will be available for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first from original warranty start date, or through May 31, 1995, whichever provides greater coverage.

SERVICE ACTION

Vehicles returned for this program will have the radius arm insulators and spacers replaced with improved parts.

REFUNDS

When all or a portion of the repair covered by this program is paid by the owner and/or the dealer prior to the release of the program, both the owner and/or the dealer are eligible for a refund.
