Windows: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTIONWindow, One-Touch Driver's Side
The driver's power window has the one-touch feature. Momentarily depressing the driver's side window button in the down position allows the window to move downward until the window is fully lowered. Momentarily touching the button while the window is moving downward will stop the window.
If the window switch is held in the down position for more than one half second, the window will stop when the button is released.
Heated Back Window Switch
The heated rear window defroster system consists of a control assembly mounted on the instrument panel, a series of grid lines baked on the inside surface of the rear window and system wiring. The grid lines consist of two layers.
The control assembly has a push-button, spring loaded to neutral position, to turn the system on or off, and a timer-controlled relay that turns off automatically after approximately 10 minutes of operation. If more than 10 minutes is required, the control can be reactivated for another 10 minutes by pushing the button momentarily to the ON position. This operation can be repeated as required.
Power for the rear window grids and the indicator is supplied directly from the power distribution box through a 40-amp maxi-fuse which protects the circuit.
Power for the control timer comes from the accessory terminal of the ignition switch. This power is available whenever the ignition switch is in the RUN position. This circuit is protected by a fuse, located in the fuse panel.
