Blower Motor: Service and Repair

Less Air Conditioning
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove inlet duct assembly.
3. Remove pushnut from blower wheel hub.
4. Pull blower wheel from blower motor shaft.
5. Remove three blower motor flange attaching screws located inside blower housing.
6. Pull blower motor out from the blower housing (heater case) and disconnect blower motor wires from the motor.
7. Reverse procedure to install.

With Air Conditioning
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove glove compartment door.
3. Disconnect blower motor wires from the blower motor resistor.
4. Loosen instrument panel at lower righthand side prior to removing motor through glove compartment opening.
5. Remove four screws attaching the blower motor and mounting plate to evaporator case.
6. Rotate the motor until mounting plate flats clear edge of glove compartment opening and remove motor.
7. Remove hub clamp spring from blower wheel hub, Fig. 33.
8. Remove blower wheel from the motor shaft.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
