QUICK TEST: Switch Monitor Test 6.0

PERFORMING THE SWITCH MONITOR TEST

SPECIAL NOTES

The Switch Monitor Test checks input signals from the individual input switches to the ECA.

All switches must be tested individually. Leaving a switch on while testing another will lead to false test results.

If all switches are OK, go to Pinpoint Test Step Q1.

Turn engine off, wait 10 seconds before starting Switch Monitor Test.

Deactivate Self-Test.

All accessories off.

Transmission in neutral.

USING THE SUPER STAR II TESTER 007-00041

1. Connect SUPER STAR II Tester adapter cable 007-00036.

2. Watch the output of the LED on the adapter cable as each switch is exercised.

3. Record all results of test.

USING ANALOG VOM 059-00010 (as shown in Step 2)

1. Ground the STI connector.

2. Connect VOM between red/black (+) and the white/yellow (-) terminals on 6-pin SelfTest output connector.

3. Watch the output of the analog VOM as each switch is exercised.

4. Record all results of test.

[DO NOT] (Unless Directed)

Depress the throttle.

Depress the clutch.

Engage the transmission.

Allow engine coolant temperature to go above 190~F.
