Fig. 26 Hydraulic Actuation Unit Replacement:
1. Remove fuel and air filter assembly.
2. Remove coil assembly, then disconnect wiring harness from bottom of coil and fuel filter mounting bracket.
3. Remove coil and fuel filter mounting brackets.
4. Disconnect three electrical connectors, then remove two banjo bolts and washers from brake lines at hydraulic actuation unit.
5. Remove banjo bolts and washers from master cylinder, then disconnect brake lines between master cylinder and hydraulic actuation unit. Note routing of brake lines to ensure proper installation.
6. Remove routing clip from brake lines. Using a six inch extension and 6 point, 10mm crowfoot wrench, disconnect four brake lines at hydraulic actuation unit, Fig. 26.
7. Remove mounting nuts, lockwashers and washers, then carefully lift hydraulic actuation assembly.
8. Remove mounting bushings from hydraulic actuation assembly.
9. Remove attaching bolts and hydraulic unit mounting bracket.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Do not remove reservoir shipping cap until hydraulic unit is installed to prevent leaking.
b. Torque banjo bolts to 14-23 ft. lbs.
c. Torque coil and fuel filter mounting bracket to 34-46 ft. lbs.
d. Perform system brake bleeding procedures.
