Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Rear

1. Grease or any other foreign material must be kept off the surfaces of the rear disc brake rotor and the rear brake shoe and lining. In handling the rear disc brake rotor and rear disc brake caliper assemblies, avoid deformation of the rear disc brake rotor and nicking or scratching of the rear brake shoe and lining.
2. During the removal and installation of a wheel, exercise care not to interfere with the rear wheel disc brake shield or the bleeder screw.
3. Rear wheel bearing end play is critical and must be within specification.
4. The wheel must be removed separately from the rear disc brake rotor.
5. Do not attempt to clean or restore any oil or grease-soaked rear brake shoe and lining. When contaminated rear brake shoe and lining are found, they must be replaced.
6. When replacing a rear disc brake rotor after either machining or new part replacement, make sure the wheel hub surface is clean and free of rust or contaminants before installation.
