WARNING: The rear brake system is subjected to high hydraulic pressure. Do not apply the brake pedal once the rear disc brake caliper has been removed from the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.1. Remove the wheel.
Parking Brake Rear Cable:
2. Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit retaining clip.
Rear Brake Operating Lever, Cable And Conduit Adjusting Nut:
3. Loosen the parking brake rear cable and conduit adjusting nut and remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit from the rear brake operating lever and the rear disc support bracket.
Brake Adjuster Screws:
4. Turn the brake adjuster screw COUNTERCLOCKWISE with an Allen wrench to pull the rear disc brake caliper piston inward. Turn the brake adjuster screw until it STOPS.
Brake Caliper Bolt:
5. Remove the brake caliper bolt. Pivot the rear disc brake caliper DOWNWARD to clear the rear disc brake caliper and anchor plate.
6. Remove the rear disc brake caliper. Support the rear disc brake caliper with a piece of wire from the rear shock absorber.
Brake Shoe And Lining:
NOTE: If rear brake shoe and lining and shims are to be reused, they must be installed in their original positions.
7. Remove the anti-rattle spring from the rear brake shoe and lining. Remove the rear brake shoe and lining, shims and retaining clips.
8. If necessary, remove and resurface the rear disc brake rotor.
