Pressure Plate: Service and Repair

1. Remove transaxle from vehicle.

Clutch:

2. Flywheel housing to block dowels can be removed by using a suitable drift pin where dowel is installed in a drilled hole, and suitable vise grip pliers where dowel is installed in a blind hole. They should be pulled or driven from their seat. Ensure not to damage surface area around dowel.

Clutch Assembly:

3. Remove clutch assembly.

Clutch Pressure Plate Tightening Sequence:

4. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure to use a suitable plastic or brass mallet to drive dowels into block. Do not damage surrounding block surface. Torque pressure plate attaching bolts in sequence, to 13-18 ft lb.
