Heater Core Case: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the instrument panel.
3. Disconnect the inlet heater water hose and outlet heater water hose in the engine compartment.
4. Disengage the wiring harness and antenna lead from the routing bracket on the front of the heater core case.
5. Loosen the clamp screw securing the A/C evaporator register duct to the heater core case.
6. Remove two nuts from the upper and lower right side of the heater core case.
7. Remove the nut from the lower left side.
8. Disengage the heater core case from the windshield defroster nozzle connectors and remove.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the heater core case on the the bulkhead.
NOTE: Ensure the windshield defroster nozzle connectors and A/C evaporator register duct are properly seated on the heater core case before installing the heater core case.
2. Install three housing nuts.
3. Tighten the A/C evaporator register duct clamp screw.
4. Route the wiring harness and antenna lead through the routing bracket on the front of the heater core case.
5. Install the instrument panel.
6. Connect the inlet heater water hose and outlet heater water hose.
7. Fill the cooling system to the proper level with the specified coolant.
8. Pressurize the cooling system and check the heater water hose connections for leaks.
