Windows: Description and Operation
Front Window Shown, Rear Similar:
Both front and rear door windows are manually operated as follows:
a. A cable-operated window regulator moves the glass up and down.
b. The cable loops around a drum attached to the window regulator handle by a regulator handle snap ring behind the window regulator handle.
c. The cable extends from the regulator drum to a slider bracket that engages and rides on a slider bar. Smooth operation is ensured by nylon inserts serving as bearing surfaces between the slider bar and the slider bracket.
d. When the window regulator handle is rotated counter-clockwise to lower the door window glass, the continuous cable rolls around a drum in the regulator handle housing and pulls the slider bracket downward along the slider bar.
e. When the window regulator handle is turned clockwise the window is raised in a similar manner.
