Generator

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the power steering pump drive belt.





3. Loosen the generator adjusting bolt.
4. Loosen the generator upper mounting bolt.
5. Raise and support the vehicle.
6. Remove the RH front splash shield.





7. Loosen the generator lower through bolt.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Remove the generator drive belt.





Replace any drive belt exhibiting any of the following conditions:
^ Excessive wear
^ Severe glazing
^ Frayed cords

NOTE: Minor cracks in the drive belt's ribbed side are considered normal and acceptable due to reverse bending.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the generator drive belt.





2. Make sure the drive belt is correctly lined up on the pulley as shown.
3. Adjust the generator drive belt tension.
4. Tighten the generator upper mounting bolt to 19-25 Nm (14-18 ft. lbs.).
5. Raise and support the vehicle.
6. Tighten the generator lower through bolt to 38-51 Nm (28-38 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the RH front splash shield. Tighten the RH splash shield bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 inch lbs.).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the power steering pump belt.
10. Connect the battery around cable.
