Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair
Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool Set:
SPECIAL TOOLS
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Reclaim the refrigerant.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the radiator shroud.
5. Remove the line connection from the compressor.
NOTE: Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
6. Remove the upper line from the air conditioning condenser.
NOTE: Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Disconnect the A/C line at the accumulator/drier.
NOTE:
^ Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
^ Use the "black" special tool from the tool set.
9. Remove the bolt from the bracket and remove the manifold and tube assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Check A/C system for normal operation.
NOTE:
^ Renew all the O-rings and coat with refrigerant oil.
^ When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
