Wheel Hub: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Release the parking brake adjustment.
2. Loosen the wheel nuts.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the wheel.





5. NOTE: If the dust cap is damaged on removal a new dust cap must be used on installation.

Remove the dust cap.





6. CAUTION: Use a socket the remove the retaining nut to prevent damage.

Remove the hub retaining nut.





7. CAUTION: Make sure the wheel speed sensor ring (if equipped) is not knocked or damaged when removing the hub assembly.

Remove the hub assembly.

Installation








1. CAUTION: Make sure the wheel speed sensor ring (if equipped) is not knocked or damaged and is kept free from metallic fragments while installing the hub assembly.

CAUTION: Rotate the hub assembly in the opposite direction when tightening the hub retaining nut.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten the parking brake adjustment.
