Clutch Disc Check

1. CAUTION: Do not use paraffin based cleaning agents and solvents.





Clean the clutch pressure plate.
- Check the clutch pressure plate for:
^ Scorch marks
^ Scoring
^ Flatness
^ Pressure points
- If necessary, renew clutch pressure plate.

2. CAUTION: Do not use paraffin based cleaning agents and solvents.





Clean the clutch friction disc.
- Check friction disc for:
^ Oil fouling
^ Scorch marks
^ Thickness
^ Check springs
- If necessary, renew clutch friction disc.





3. Check the flywheel for:
- Scorch marks
- Scoring
- Cracks
- If necessary, renew flywheel.





4. Check the clutch master cylinder:
- For leaks
- Retaining clip

Vehicles with MTX-75 manual transmission






5. Check the clutch slave cylinder with release bearing:
- For leaks
- Bellows





6. Check driveshaft:
- Splines
- For scoring
- For damage

Vehicles with iB5 manual transmission






7. Check the clutch slave cylinder with release bearing for:
- Leaks
- Severe wear of the release bearing inner ring





8. Check the transmission input shaft:
- Splines
- For scoring
- For damage
