Wheel Cylinder: Service and Repair

Removal

CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

1. Remove the brake drum.





2. Disconnect the brake shoes from the wheel cylinder.





3. Remove the wheel cylinder.
1 Disconnect the brake tube union.
2 Remove the bolts.

Installation





1. Install the wheel cylinder.
1 Install the bolts.
2 Connect the brake tube union.





2. CAUTION: Do not damage the wheel cylinder boots.

Connect the brake shoes to the wheel cylinder.
3. Install the brake drum.
4. Bleed the brake system.
5. Operate the brake pedal to achieve automatic adjustment.
