Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.
2. Remove the fan shroud.
3. Remove the A/C manifold and tube support Clip retaining bolt.
4. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube spring lock coupling.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
5. Remove the bolt.
6. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube spring lock coupling.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
7. Raise and support the vehicle.
8. Remove the screws and the radiator air deflector.
9. Detach the A/C manifold and tube from the A/C manifold and tube support clip.
10. Loosen the A/C manifold and tube retaining bolt and remove the A/C manifold and tube.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the O-ring seals with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
