Feedback Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection



1. Disconnect hose No. 17 at air cleaner, then start engine and apply air to hose No. 17 using a suitable hand pump.
2. If air flow is present, proceed to step 4. If air flow is not present, check for continuity at vacuum switch A.
3. If continuity is not present, replace solenoid valve and repeat test. If continuity is present, replace vacuum switch and repeat test.
4. Raise engine speed to 2,500 RPM and apply air to hose No. 17 using a suitable hand pump.
5. If air flow is present, test is complete. If air flow is not present, check for continuity at vacuum switch A.
6. If continuity is not present, check vacuum line No. 4. If vacuum line is clear, replace vacuum switch A. If continuity is present, check for voltage at solenoid valve black/yellow wire terminal.
7. If voltage is present, replace solenoid valve and repeat test.
